Take a break from your busy schedule to catch up with fellow alumni for a networking happy hour Nov. 16 at Wynwood Kitchen & Bar (WKB) before the holidays get into full swing! Located in the heart of Miami’s emerging art community, WKB offers innovative Latin-influenced cuisine and a feast for your eyes like none other. The evening will be hosted by Emma Galler (B.F.A., art history, 2009).

SCAD Interior Design Alumni Gathering Nov. 2 in Baltimore during NeoCon East

Join fellow interior design alumni Nov. 2 at Mr. Rain’s Fun House at the American Visionary Art Museum for a gathering in Baltimore, Maryland, during NeoCon East. The Fun House offers an aesthetic unique to any other dining venue in Baltimore, capturing inspiration from The American Visionary Art Museum and beyond. Truly a unique evening to re-connect with friends from your days at SCAD and make new ones! The evening will be hosted by SCAD interior design professor Margo Jones and SCAD industry and alumni outreach manager Alicia Lee. All School of Building Arts alumni are welcome to attend!

SCAD Alumni Weekend in Atlanta

SCAD Alumni Weekend in Atlanta in conjunction with Open Studio Night is just around the corner. The weekend kicks off with the Alumni and Atlanta Council Reception Nov. 4, 5:30-7 p.m. at SCAD Atlanta, fifth floor, building C, 1600 Peachtree St. N.W., Atlanta, Georgia. Following the reception, enjoy Open Studio Night featuring more than 200 original works of art by SCAD students, professors and alumni, live entertainment, hands-on demonstrations and light refreshments.

 

The weekend continues on Nov. 5 with customized SCAD Atlanta building tours offered from 9:30-10:30 a.m. and 1-2 p.m. departing from Gallery See. The academics and athletics panel will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in Events Space. A meet and mingle with refreshments will follow the panel. The office for career and alumni success at SCAD invites you to an invigorating exchange on entrepreneurship featuring sessions and panels with successful SCAD alumni and professors as well as entrepreneurs from the realm of art and design. The forum kicks off Thursday evening with a reception featuring keynote presentations by executives from SCAD-alumni owned and Austin, Texas-based Rocksauce Studios and Kristie Mann of Hewlett-Packard. In addition to Friday’s sessions on financing, copyright law, contract negotiations, work visas and work authorization types, enjoy a lunch & learn session on the unique design perspective of The Femme Den, an alumni panel and ice cream social and a look into Savannah-based Meddin Studios.
