Join fellow SCAD alumni and SCAD faculty, students and staff at a networking mixer in Buffalo, New York, during the National Preservation Conference. Conveniently located in downtown Buffalo and within walking distance of the conference, The Century Grill is the perfect setting to re-connect with old friends and make new ones. The evening will be hosted by SCAD chair of historic preservation Jeff Eley and SCAD industry and alumni outreach manager Alicia Lee.

Don’t miss this one-of-a-kind workshop for SCAD alumni and graduate students Oct. 7, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., presented by Teri Hawkins, the savvy coach, speaker and motivator for entrepreneurs. The workshop will be held in the screening room of the SCAD Atlanta Digital Media Center, 1611 W. Peachtree St., Atlanta, Georgia (map). Doug Lloyd’s One Night Light Project

Doug Lloyd (B.F.A., painting, 2002) and the One Light Night Project team have set out to create and hang 12 oversize canvases in iconic climbing locales featuring images based on native and ancient art of the selected hanging sites. Each canvas will hang for one night only and one image will be captured to represent each of the 12 experiences. Join the team by backing the Kickstarter project.

 

SCAD Alumni in Seattle Reception and Art Walk

Join fellow SCAD alumni and industry and alumni outreach manager Stacy Aldrich for a networking reception at Seattle landmark Owl ‘n Thistle Irish Pub. An array of appetizers will be provided and drink and food specials will be offered. A cash bar will be available.

 

After the reception, head out and enjoy The First Thursday Seattle Art Walk. SCAD alumni are welcome to enjoy area art exhibits until 8 p.m.

Join fellow SCAD alumni for SCAD’s production of “Fahrenheit 451″ at Round House Theatre, 4545 East-West Highway, Bethesda, Maryland, Wednesday, Sep. 14, 6:30-9:30 p.m. View map. Originally conceived and produced at SCAD, this production of “Fahrenheit 451″ is a result of the combined efforts of over 200 SCAD Savannah and Atlanta students in the performing arts, production design, animation, film, sound design, and motion media departments. “Fahrenheit 451″ marked the largest collaborative interdepartmental effort in the school’s history. SCAD performing arts artistic director Sharon Ott helms the Round House production featuring the original sets, lights, costumes, sound and video as created at SCAD. Actors from the original production will join the professional D.C.-based cast for the Washington incarnation.
