Christopher Hoff (B.F.A., painting, 1998) is documenting the construction progress made on the World Trade Center towers and 9/11 Memorial with support from the Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation and the Artist Trust GAP Grant program. SCAD Denver Alumni event tonight

Join the SCAD Denver Alumni Group tonight at 6:30 p.m. at SALT in Boulder, Colorado. SCAD career services and admission personnel will share career services available to alumni and offer tips for networking.

April Johnston designs on Project Runway Season 8

The SCAD exhibitions department presents “SCAD Painting: Expressions of Application,” a group exhibition uniting alumni and graduate students from the SCAD painting department. Through Aug. 8
the inspiring works are on display at Pinnacle Gallery, 320 E. Liberty St., Savannah, Ga. Experience the fusion of painting, sculpture, collage and assemblage, demonstrating abstract, conceptual, landscape and representational works. This event is free and open to the public.

HG is currently seeking new talent to create art with an Asian feel for a hotel in Beijing. Artwork may include paintings, mixed media and photography. Artists selected by HG will have their work published into high-quality giclees and their work exhibited on the HG website and in the showroom open exclusively to industry designers and buyers.

Sam Spratt an Adobe Design Achievement Awards finalist

Sam Spratt (B.F.A., illustration, 2010) is a semi-finalist in the illustration category of the Adobe Design Achievement Awards competition for his portrait of Sir Ian Mckellen. His is one of 29 illustrations selected out of more than 4,000 submissions. Spratt is also runner-up for Creative Quarterly 20 and was accepted to American Illustration 29.

Jon Hill “The Farm” at LA Shorts Film Festival

Jon Hill (B.F.A., photography, 1992) directed the short film, “The Farm,” which will be showing at the LA Shorts Fest, Friday, July 23 during the 3 p.m. program slot. The Farm tells the the story of a man fighting for his land during the depression era, drawing parallels to today’s housing crisis.

 

The LA Shorts Fest is held at Laemmle Sunset 5 Theaters, 8000 W. Sunset Blvd., Hollywood, Ca.
