It is with great sadness that we report the passing of Frances Wong, lifelong Savannah educator and administrative leader at SCAD for more than 10 years. She began her career as a teacher and then became a principal in the Savannah-Chatham County Public Schools System, retiring in 1995 before going on to her second career in education. At SCAD, she started the graduate mentor program, then served as vice president for academic services and finally vice president for student services before retiring for a second time in 2006.

Wong is remembered fondly as a kind, supportive and inspiring educator and SCAD is grateful for her many contributions to Savannah and to the university. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, June 30, at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel, 7200 Hodgson Memorial Drive, Savannah, Ga. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 1, at the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist, 222 E. Harris St., Savannah, Ga.

Remembrances: In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Community Health Mission, the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist Building Fund, or the Frances Wong Memorial Scholarship at SCAD.
