It is with great sadness that we inform the SCAD community of the passing of Savannah College of Art and Design sequential art professor and alumnus Jeremy Mullins (M.F.A., sequential art, 2005). Mullins had been a SCAD employee since June 2006. SCAD extends its condolences to Mullins’ family, friends and colleagues.

At SCAD, Mullins taught the sequential art classes Online Comics, Self-promotion, Introduction to Sequential Art and many more. He also initiated and ran the sequential art department’s successful twice-weekly podcast at www.seqalab.com, as well as the department blog.

“Jeremy loved working in the sequential art department and loved teaching at SCAD,” said David Duncan, chair of the sequential art department. “He was a dedicated hard worker, respectful to everyone, and always supportive of students. The whole department owes a great deal to Jeremy for his service and his friendship.”

Services will be held Saturday, June 20, 10 a.m., at the Memorial Funeral Home, 212 N. Main St., Elizabethton, Tenn. A memorial service will be held Monday, June 22, on Tybee Island, Ga. Details regarding the time and location of the memorial service will be announced later this week. For more

I never met Jeremy Mullins but if I had I would have thanked him from the bottom of my heart for the guidance and mentoring he showed to my son, Pranas. Now, Jeremy will have to listen to my heart. My prayers and thoughts go out to his family with the hope that someday they will truly know that although Jeremy’s life was too short on earth, he positively effected so many while here.
