April Aguilera (B.F.A., media and performing arts, 2006) is the lead singer of Marshal Hill. Marshal Hill has been selected as a finalist in a competition where the top four bands with the most “demands” will open for Little Big Town at one of their upcoming concerts. The Savannah Disputation

SCAD alumni can received a special discount to “The Savannah Disputation”, a new play by Evan Smith. The play runs from Feb. 6-March 15 at Playwrights Horizons Mainstage Theater, 416 W. 42nd St. between 9th and 10th Avenues, New York, NY. Order by March 3 to get $40 tickets (regularly $65) for performances from Feb. 6-March 2 and $50 tickets (regularly $65) for performances March 5-15. Limit four tickets per order. Chandler Griffin (B.F.A., video/film, 1999) of Barefoot Workshops announces a 2-week DV workshop designed for photojournalists who are looking to make the move to videojournalism and the web, new documentary filmmakers who want to launch their careers in web and television documentaries and for those with experience in some aspects of filmmaking that are looking to expand their skill, understanding and mastery of the whole process. Producers, cinematographers, editors and writers with narrative experience who are considering working in non-fiction filmmaking are also encouraged to enroll. The workshop will be held Feb. 15-28. A commercial by SCAD alumni Mike Goubeaux (B.F.A., film and television, 2006), Andrew Cook (B.F.A., visual effects and film and television, 2006) and Josh Lind (B.F.A., film and television, 2005) with sound by Brent Kiser (B.F.A., sound design, 2006) is one of five finalists in the Doritos Crash the Super Bowl competition. People can vote for their commercial, “Too Delicious,” now through Jan. 25 online. The competition winners will have their commercial aired during the big game. Visit the gallery page and vote!
