Henley Studios presents “Outer Limits: Beyond the Loop” group exhibition featuring Jenny Henley (ACA: B.F.A.,  sculpture, 2004),  Wendy James, Sandra Milton, and Melinda Crider. On display will be paintings, sculptures, mixed media, and experimental works. Henley Studios is located at 280 Elizabeth St. NE, Suite A-109, Atlanta, Ga. Show dates are Oct. 24, 6-9 p.m.; Oct. 25-26, 11 a.m.-5 p.m.; and by appointment through Nov. 20. Closing reception will be held Nov. 14, 6-9 p.m.

Meryl Truett’s (M.F.A., photography, 2002) “Picturing the Beltline” exhibition runs until Nov. 1, with an artist reception on Oct. 17 from 7-9 p.m. at Barbara Archer Gallery in Atlanta.  The Beltline is a loop of tracks that surrounded Atlanta in its early years. Read more.

Alumni to launch first-of-kind video game

Kyle Entsminger (B.F.A., computer art, 2003) and Chris Curra (B.F.A., computer art, 2002) of Perpetual FX Creative will launch “Galactic Bowling,” a first-of-kind video game developed for PC, Oct. 20. It is the first title released under the Galactic franchise. “Galactic Bowling” is available for pre-purchase now online via STEAM.

Are you a former SCAD Bees baseball player? If so, make plans to attend the baseball alumni game and reception in Savannah on Oct. 25. Former SCAD Bees baseball players will take on the 2009 SCAD Bees baseball team in a nine-inning game at Grayson Stadium. If you didn’t play baseball at SCAD, plan to come out and cheer on the teams. Batting practice begins at 11 a.m., followed by the game at noon. A reception for the players will take place at 6 p.m. at Wild Wing Cafe in City Market. Jason Statts (B.F.A., illustration, 1996) was shot on June 28 in the Ardsley Park neighborhood of Savannah. He continues to rehabilitate at Shepherd Center in Atlanta. Amiri Farris (B.F.A., illustration, 1997; M.F.A. painting, 2006) won the United Way of the Lowcountry’s recent song competition based on the theme “Live United. View the video.
