These designs were chosen because of the way they divided up the space. During critique, I learned that there is continuous negative space in the top left design, which I redesigned.

Good evening, Alyssa! I think I’ll post here, if you don’t mind.
I didn’t get a good look at your designs in class, but I will say you have some interesting design choices. I like your approach to simplicity, everything is clean and easy to tell what you’re looking at. I agree about the continuous negative space, I’ll take a look at your redesigns.
