Aliyah Curry

Hello, Sir/Ma’am!

My name is Aliyah Curry. “I am a writer. If there is any left over, then I’ll be a woman.” I am at SCAD to major in Dramatic Writing and minor in Creative Writing. The writing bug hit me early on and I always have a notebook and pen nearby. Short stories, plays, poems, feature films, I’ll write anything. My voice is diverse because of the many places I’ve lived, thanks to the US Army and my parents’ other jobs. Alabama is home though, and yes, I am a Bama fan (ROLL TIDE!). In recent months I’ve become obsessed with spoken word and slam poetry, so I’m building the confidence to get into that as well. Cooking, my original love, is still something I’m passionate about, so expect to see some of that in my work maybe! I am an aesthete through and through, and I hope to share many things with fellow art lovers this quarter.
