Google News Timeline

Miguel Helft recently published a blog post on the new Google News Timeline that is currently in Beta. Google News Timeline The timeline will contain scanned copies of old newspapers as well as copies of Time magazine. ArtBabble Art Videos Now Available!

According to a report by Kate Taylor in the New York Times, ArtBabble, a site for videos about art and artists, is now available to the public. ArtBabble will feature video content from the New York Public Library, the Smithsonian American Art Museum, the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, and the Los Angelos County Museum of Art. This content will include “artist interviews and time-lapse shots of exhibition installations to short profiles of curators, art handlers, and even museum guards.” Along with each video, users will find notes and related content to help viewers find other artists or videos of interest.

World Digital Library Available April 21!

According to Alison Flood of The Guardian, the free access World Digital Library will go live on April 21. The World Digital Library will provide users with access to “rare books, maps, films, manuscripts and recordings” from libraries around the world. The website will operate in seven languages with content available in many more. In addition to the documents available, museum and library experts will include video explaining the significance of the documents.
